Osite Okocha has a wide experience in law practice as a commercial litigation lawyer, Bar Executive, and Public Servant. With over 16 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer, he has done considerable work in commercial litigation, development law, alternative dispute resolution, law and institutional reforms, management & administration, and public service. His professional experience is varied and covers contentious and non-contentious matters. Osite worked in the law firm of Olise Agbukoba Legal for years before he joined the Nigerian Bar Association, the umbrella professional association of lawyers, which regulates and represents the legal profession in Nigeria, as its first Executive Director. While in the NBA he worked in various capacities as a public interest attorney, and pioneered the professionalization of the management of the NBA and the institutionalization of its advocacy for the public good. In the course of his work, he has supported justice sector institutions, public sector bodies, corporate and civil society organizations, provided policy and legal advisory services to various companies and government agencies. He has also supported lawyers and law firms in the areas of regulation, practice development, and professional ethics. He was a member of the team that established the Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and also designed the continuing professional development programme for lawyers in Nigeria. He was also a key member of the team that established the NBA Section on Public Interest and Development Law. Since his admission to practice law, Osite has attended several training programmes, including a Commonwealth sponsored Professional Fellowship Programme in London, and Leadership and Management training supported by the International Bar Association in London, and American Bar Association in Chicago. He has attended several national and international conferences and workshops. He was a member of the Governing Board of Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, International Division of Law Society of England and Wales, and Associate member of American Bar Association.

Sam Eruma is a Law Teacher and Solicitor, called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988. He holds a first degree in Law; his second degree was in Law and Political Science (International Relations) from University of Lagos, and doctorate degree in African Law from the University of Ibadan. He has specialized certificates in Mediation and Other Methods to Foster Democratic Dialogue (2006), Public Service/Interest Lawyering (2008) and Leadership and Management for Integrity (2014) all from the Central European University, Budapest; and in International Humanitarian Law from the International Center for the Study of International Humanitarian Law, Geneva (2004). Sam is also trained in Project Evaluation/Impact Assessment from INTRAC, Oxford (2011) and in clinical legal education methods.As member of the clinical legal education movement, he was part of the Nigerian delegation to the African Legal Clinics Roundtable Meeting at Cape Town, 2007; on advocacy visit to two Universities in Ghana, 2012; and Nigerian coach at the International Client Counselling Competition, at University of Hong Kong in April 2010. Sam Eruma has presented lessons and conducted sessions at many clinical legal education teacher training workshops, at Conferences of Nigerian Association of Law Teachers, and recently presented at the 3rd UNITAR-Yale Conference on Environmental Governance and Democracy, Yale University, 2014.Sam is a former Head, Department of Jurisprudence, International and Public Law; and former Coordinator of Clinical Legal Education Programme, Faculty of Law, Abia State University, Uturu, Nigeria. At undergraduate level, he currently teaches Labour/Industrial Law, Company Law and International Humanitarian Law in addition to supervising a Law Clinic, and also moderates Environmental Law and Policy at postgraduate level. He is widely published in clinical legal education, human rights, access to justice and labour/industrial law-with the latest work in Public Interest Lawyering-Theory and Practice, and has experience addressing related practice issues.

Seemi’s specialty lies in the utilization of the law, media and technology towards inclusive Governance. In the last decade, Seember has coordinated the development and deployment of a globally recognized, award-wining Governance monitoring portal in Nigeria ; which was developed to support the operability of reform laws including the Public Procurement Act 2007 and the Freedom of Information Act 2011. Seember provides technical and peer learning support to groups including the National Democratic Institute and Core operations unit of the World Bank Africa region in the formation of multi-stakeholder contract monitoring coalitions in Nigeria and African countries respectively. Seember is one of 17 sprinters, convened by the World Bank Institute, to champion open contracting practices across the globe. Seember along with other Open Contracting sprinters, authored the 1st edition of the Open Contracting Guide . As a member of the Open Data Working Group set up by the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology, Seemi has assisted the group in drafting an initial legal and policy framework and a draft open data communication strategy. Seemi pioneered rankings on FOI compliance among Nigerian public institutions and increasingly contributes to the development and evolution of frameworks around economic regulation, Fair Use copyright licensing, cyber-security, data privacy and e-commerce. Seemi is a corruption risk assessor and writes independent Governance-related opinions for various platforms including Premium Times.
